Sims Recycling Solution’s fridge recycling plant is the largest in the world, capable of recycling 1 million refrigerators each year. Based in Newport, Wales, it provides a national service to producer compliance schemes, retailers and businesses.

The fridge recycling plant uses world leading technology to process domestic and commercial fridges within a sealed environment so that Ozone Depleting Substances can be safely removed for destruction. The remaining materials are separated mechanically into the individual product streams: steel, non-ferrous metals, plastic and polyurethane foam.

These products are marketed through our expertise in the global secondary materials markets. The result is high recovery and recycling rates, working to best environmental practice with a cost efficient process.

The Newport recycling plant can also process air conditioning units and insulated panels, safely removing hazardous materials and recycling metallic, plastic and other commodities.
