End of life fridges on conveyors at Sims' Newport fridge recycling plant, processing up to 1 million fridges annually
Sims Recycling Solutions has invested in specialist facilities and equipment to process end of life equipment that is difficult to recover or contains hazardous materials that need specialised handling.
These include fridge recycling, cathode ray tube (CRT) processing and toner cartridge recycling.
In Newport, our fridge recycling plant (the world's largest) can recycle up to 1 million fridges each year. CRTs recovered from computer monitors and televisions are recycled in a specialist process in our new facilities on Merseyside. Cartridges from printers and photocopiers are recycled in dedicated facilities in our Eindhoven recycling centre, Netherlands.
We offer services to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Component Equipment Manufacturers (CEMs) and electrical equipment distributors for component recovery and materials recovery, to help maximise the recycling value from returns that cannot be re-distributed, re-used or re-marketed.
This interactive presentation provides you with an insight into how waste electrical and electronic equipment is recovered and recycled to produce ferrous metals, non ferrous metals and plastics for manufacturing of new products.
