Newport, South Wales is home to Sims' largest recycling facility, based on 36 acres of prime dockland. Electronics recycling services include the world's largest fridge plant and a new £12m WEEE recycling centre. Metals recycling services onsite include the world's largest metals shredder.

In 2009, Sims Recycling Solutions opened a new £12m Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Recycling centre, offering:
- Highly mechanised, cost effective processing of waste electrical and electronic equipment such as lawn mowers, hi-fi equipment, electronic tools and vacuum cleaners. Ferrous and non ferrous metals are recovered for recycling, with hazardous materials such as cadmium safely recovered.
- Recovery of plastics for recycling
- Recovery, refurbishment, redeployment and remarketing of IT equipment such as laptop computers, printers and networking equipment.

Nearby is the world's largest fridge recycling plant, capable of recovering and recycling up to 1 million fridges each year. The fridge recycling centre recovers harmful substances such as CFCs from domestic and commercial refrigeration units, air conditioning units and insulation panels before mechanically dismantling for metals recycling.

Newport recycling centre is also home to metal recycling facilities of sister division, Sims Metal Management. Adjacent to the fridge plant is the world's largest metals shredder and a scrap metal yard providing a wide range of scrap metal merchant services.
